Snapcast is an Open Source multi-room audio software package. It consists of a server that controls what is playing and clients connected to speakers through out the house. We have a "Snapclient" in the following rooms - Front porch - Living room - Dining room - Office - Bedroom - Heidi's room Most of the Snapclients are running on a Raspberry Pi (of different variations Pi 4, Pi Zero, Radxa Zero). The Living Room uses "real" speakers with an amp, while other rooms use Bluetooth speakers connected over line-in. The Dining Room uses a Bose speaker that has USB audio input - which is nice because it avoids ground loops and means power+audio is delivered via a single cable. I haven't been able to find any other speakers that have this option and that speaker is kind of old.
