NOTE: Mix after each addition. Add @vanilla extract{1 teaspoon} and @rum extract{1 teaspoon, optional}. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured #9-inch round cakepans{}. Bake at 350° for ~{30-35 minutes} or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in #pans{} for ~{10 minutes}; remove, and cool completely on #wire racks{}. Spread Caramel Frosting between layers and on top and sides.
